Parsnips

This is part of our parsnip patch, which we finally got weeded and mulched last week. My grandparents saved their old grass clippings (from WI), which worked great and smell fabulous. I'll be outside and get a whiff of pine. So these things stay in until spring, and then we get to dig them up. Trav added more seed in the bare spots, so hopefully they will be nice and big before winter.
For supper tonight (not that everyone probably cares what we have for supper every night, but anyways) we tried mashed kohlrabi and potatoes with venison and gravy. It was interesting.
Mom and Dad, I hope you finished haying tonight (and aren't out there unloading right now).
