Charlie wanted everyone to see this picture of him chopping corn with Franklin.

Highlights from the week (that we got on film).

Clarence smiled for Santa for the first time ever!

Charlie was too shy, so he sat on Mrs. Claus's lap. Next year he might be too big!
Making doughnuts... they don't last very long.
 Getting into trouble per usual.
Grandma got smart and bought two new snow shovels.
She'll never have to shovel off the porch again.
 Good Night!

Two little girls that like to stick together.

 (watching Charlie take a bath)

working together to unload the dishwasher

all dressed up for Saturday night supper

bottles were the cool thing in the house this week

This week was full of adorableness. The girls teamed up. Charlie was happy to have his own baby to take care of. They played so hard, they all slept well (thank goodness).
After Viv went home, Charlie had his own son named Charlie Juniper (via magic). So now I am busy being a grandmother, but we are missing our sweet little Vivi.

Apple pie.

My mom makes the best pie crust in the whole world!

Baby food.

Having two babies around for a few days, it was definitely busy around here. But also a fun time to try some new baby food combinations. Here's a few of the things I made for the girls and Charlie...

1- sausage, broccoli, and cabbage pureed with apples pears and sprinkled with Parmesan
2- turkey sandwiches on whole grain bread with pureed cabbage and pear sauce

3- peach, strawberry and banana keifer smoothies
4- blueberry, strawberry, peach (whole wheat) Charlie monster pancakes with scrambled eggs and broccoli hair

5- the girls version of Charlie's monster breakfast
6- pureed spaghetti and sauce with pureed broccoli, green bean, kale and bananas and hearth bread
7- BBQ with beets and spinach balls

I actually have really started to like the divider plates for babies... they encourage variety. I hate leaving an empty spot! And usually it gets filled with a simple fruit or veggie.

I almost forgot our most colorful meal!
We had brats, fresh sauerkraut and homemade catsup, carrots, and basil pesto potato salad...

A new(old) wagon for the monster trike.

We had a little time before bedtime tonight, so Charlie gave Juniper a spin around the block. They were both quite pleased. Juniper won her helmet at the block party, and loves to wear it when Charlie wears his. Grandpa Steve fixed up this old wagon from Grandma, and it looks great! It wasn't functional before, had a hole in it and the hitch was rusted off. Now its being used to haul all kinds of things. In this case, he drove nice and slow with his precious cargo.

What does the fox say?

Charlie has been telling me about this song, "What does the fox say?". At speech therapy, M. even told me they looked up this song, but Charlie said he didn't know it. He told her he does know Nickel back...

So we looked it up today and this is what I found. Really? I was thinking it was a children's song. I'm not sure if this is what they watched/listened too!

However, we then watched this Ellen interview, and like these guys (Ylvis). I guess I have a soft spot for Norwegians.

Thought you would enjoy :) Have you heard this song?!?

Becky and Charlie

PS Their other songs are worse/better.

Wednesday- Sausage Cabbage Crock Pot Soup

Well, that's been one week of Trav writing the meal plan. I think we will continue until we get bored! Thanks to Percy for this recipe...
Here is a bonus recipe...Curried eggplant with Tomato and Basil. This is the recipe I made last Wednesday before we started. Generally I like to be vegetarian a night or two per week. I would share any recipe I have used thus far (though most are easily available online).
